Transparency-aware choices
A transparent PNG needs a destination that supports alpha. JPG output places the image over white; the WebP route can retain transparent areas.
Turn PNG graphics into JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, PDF, or ICO locally. Understand transparency, photo size, and icon output before downloading a new copy.

A transparent PNG needs a destination that supports alpha. JPG output places the image over white; the WebP route can retain transparent areas.
Create JPG, WebP, AVIF, a still GIF, BMP, PDF, or ICO from the same starting PNG. Transparent areas become white in JPG, GIF, and BMP exports.
PNG often suits interface captures and graphics with sharp edges. Consider whether a lossy output is suitable for text and line art.
Selected PNG files are read on your device. Conversion does not require a file upload or a local-tool account.
JPG and WebP routes normally retain pixel dimensions. ICO output is resized to an icon canvas of at most 256 pixels.
Download a separate output and retain your PNG when you may need transparent edges or another version later.
Choose the graphic or screenshot you want to export. Keep the original if its transparent edges are important.
Select an available output. Plan for a white background with JPG and a smaller canvas with ICO.
Convert, save the result, and inspect text, edges, and the background in the app where the file will be used.
PNG stores raster images with lossless compression and can include transparent pixels. That combination makes it useful for logos, diagrams, screenshots, and other graphics whose edges should stay precise in the source file.
Lossless storage does not guarantee a small download. A large photographic PNG can be much bigger than a suitable photo-oriented encoding. Before converting, decide whether your priority is transparent compositing, easy sharing, a document page, or a browser icon.
Changing the container also changes what the next application receives. A JPG has no alpha channel; an ICO is an icon asset; a PDF is a document. These are different deliverables, so keep the PNG when it serves as your reusable graphic master.

It depends on the output. JPG, this still GIF export, and the 24-bit BMP export use white backgrounds. WebP and AVIF can retain alpha; inspect the converted edges in your intended application.
JPG may reduce the size of a photographic image, but it uses lossy encoding. It is less suitable when transparent areas or very crisp text are the main requirement.
No. The ICO tool creates an icon-sized result, limited to 256 pixels, rather than preserving a large design canvas.
The PNG to PDF route places the image on a document page. It does not identify text, rebuild editable shapes, or perform OCR.
The working conversions listed on this page run in the browser. The website loads its code from the host, but the selected graphic is not sent to the conversion server.
