Zero leaves that adjustment unchanged. Positive values brighten or increase contrast; negative values darken or reduce contrast.
Can this recover clipped photo details?
No. It changes existing pixel values and cannot recover highlights or shadows missing from the source.
Will it keep the transparent background?
The adjustment leaves alpha values unchanged in the PNG output.
