GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

How do I select a color from the picture?

Choose an image, then click its preview. The X and Y fields update to the selected source pixel. Run the tool to read its values.

What does the alpha value mean?

Alpha describes opacity: zero is transparent and one is fully opaque. The result also includes an eight-digit HEX value with alpha.

Does a preview click use the original resolution?

The displayed preview is scaled to fit, but the coordinates are mapped back to pixels in the decoded original.

Are these exact print color measurements?

No. These are browser-decoded RGB pixel values. They are not a calibrated print or color-profile measurement.
