A JPG source arrives with its photographic compression already applied. The converter decodes that picture into pixels; any blocks or softness visible in the source are part of those decoded pixels.

Explore the JPG converterThe PNG result stores the decoded picture with lossless compression. It can be useful as the next editing copy, but a plain JPG photo does not gain a transparent background simply by changing formats.
Explore the PNG converterExpect some photographs to become larger. This conversion retains the picture dimensions and does not sharpen, trace, or reconstruct missing detail.
A JPG file may not be accepted by the app or upload form you need. JPG to PNG creates a separate PNG copy while leaving your original file untouched.

The JPG source and PNG result use different compression methods. PNG may need more bytes to store the decoded photo without another lossy image encoding.

The converter uses the decoded JPG width and height without resizing. Use the image resizer if you need different dimensions.
